Damascus: The Syrian Presidency announced on Monday the signing of a deal aimed at integrating the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into the institutions of the Syrian Arab Republic, stressing the unity of Syrian territory and rejecting division.
According to Qatar News Agency, the signing of this deal took place following the meeting between Syrian President, Ahmed Al Sharaa, and Chief of Syrian SDF Mazloum Abdi.
The eight-point deal ensures all Syrians’ rights to representation and participation in state institutions based on merit, regardless of their religious or ethnic backgrounds, Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.
The deal stressed that the Kurdish community is an integral part of the Syrian state, with the Syrian state guaranteeing their right to citizenship and all constitutional rights, including a ceasefire across all Syrian territories, the integration of all civil and military institutions in northeastern Syria into the administration of the Syrian state, as well as border crossings, airports, and oil and gas fields.
In addition, the deal ensures the return of all displaced Syrians to their towns and villages, with protection provided by the Syrian state, in addition to backing the Syrian state’s efforts in combating the remnants of Al Assad’s regime and all threats to its security and unity.
Overall, it rejects calls for division, hate speech, and attempts to sow discord among all segments of Syrian society, stipulating that the executive committees work toward implementing this deal by no later than the end of 2025.
