Department of Meteorology Warns of Strong Wind and High Sea Tonight

Doha: Weather inshore tonight until 6:00 am on Friday will be partly cloudy to cloudy with a chance of scattered rain and relatively cold becomes hazy to misty at places later, the Department of Meteorology said in its daily weather report. Offshore, it will see partly cloudy to cloudy with chance of scattered rain, the Department of Meteorology added, warning of strong wind and high sea.

According to Qatar News Agency, wind inshore will be mainly northeasterly to northwesterly at a speed of 07 to 17 knots. Offshore, it will be northeasterly to northwesterly at a speed of 10 to 20 knots, reaching 25 knots at places. The visibility will be 05 to 09 kilometers or 03 kilometers or less at places later.

The sea state inshore will be 2 to 4 feet surging to 5 feet at places. Offshore, it will be 3 to 6 feet surging to 8 feet at places. The tide timings for different areas include high tides in Doha at 05:56 and 17:04, and low tides at 13:04 and 13:32. Other areas such as Messaid, Wakrah, Al Khor, Ruwais, and Dukhan have similar tidal patterns, with varying times for high and low tides.

Sunrise is expected at 06:08 LT and sunset at 17:27 LT. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions due to the expected weather conditions.
