Manama, The Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) has released a new volume of its journal, focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Center's Board of Trustees and the journal's Editor-in-Chief, highlights the significant advancements in AI, showcasing its potential across diverse sectors amid global aspirations for its benefits and addressing associated security challenges. He emphasised that artificial intelligence (AI) has become a pivotal indicator for measuring a country's strength, swiftly earning recognition among international metrics dedicated to such assessments. Derasat's Chairman highlighted the keen interest of Arabian Gulf countries in AI technologies, driven by their ambitious development plans. These plans are guided by a comprehensive three-pillared strategy: enhancing educational systems to align with AI institutions for current and future utilization, and implementing legislative and financial f ramework to govern AI, ensuring a balance between its benefits and risks. The journal showcased Bahrain's AI initiatives while acknowledging challenges in keeping pace with digital technology, drawing insights from the UAE's AI applications. It explored AI's impact on defense, reflecting its growing global significance. The Derasat Journal enriches scientific content in the Arab world by engaging experts to share views on contemporary issues.
