Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty, held a phone call on Wednesday with Senior Advisor to the US President on Arab and African Affairs, Massad Boulos. The discussion centered around escalating developments in the Middle East and extended to situations in Sudan, Libya, the Great Lakes, eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the Horn of Africa. The conversation also touched upon water security issues in Egypt.
According to Qatar News Agency, Abdelatty emphasized the need for regional and international efforts to align in order to de-escalate tensions. He advocated for political and diplomatic solutions to contain rising tensions and prevent the expansion of conflicts across the region.
The US official, Massad Boulos, acknowledged Egypt's crucial role in supporting security and stability in the Middle East and Africa. He highlighted Egypt's efforts in promoting political settlements to various conflicts and reiterated the commitment to continuous coordination and dialogue between the two nations on regional and international matters of mutual interest.
