Over the course of two days of meetings of the Arab Federation of Accountants and Auditors, and based on the Federation’s invitation to the member professional organizations, the Federation held an extraordinary general assembly meeting to approve the financial and administrative reports and amend the statute in accordance with the unified system of the Economic Unity Council, followed by a meeting of the ordinary general assembly. A new board of directors was formed for the next session, and the Palestinian Society of Certified Public Accountants, represented by Muhammad Akram Hassouna, received the position of Treasurer. The State of Iraq, represented by the Iraqi Society of Certified Public Accountants, received the position of President of the Union, and the State of Tunisia, represented by the Association of Accounting Experts in Tunisia, received the position of Vice President. As for the Secretariat, The general share was for the State of Egypt, represented by the Egyptian Society of Certified Public Accountants, and thus the Board of Directors of the Union of Arab Accountants and Auditors was formed for a two-year session.
It is noteworthy that the association participated in these meetings through Mr. Muhammad Akram Hassouna, the association’s president, and Mr. Sami Dahbour, the association’s vice president. The association had a prominent role in preparing a draft of the bylaws of the Arab Federation of Accountants and Auditors in accordance with the system of the Economic Unity Council.
It is worth noting that the Auditors Association is keen to represent Palestine in international professional forums to permanently enhance Palestine’s presence on the professional map
