The Iraqi Artists Syndicate mourned the passing of the artist Abdul Sattar Al-Basri, who passed away today, Sunday, due to an incurable illness. The late artist was born in Basra, in the Al-Bajari district of Al-Ashar, and completed his primary, middle, and preparatory studies there. He left Basra and studied law, and went to Baghdad. He studied at the College of Fine Arts, University of Baghdad in 1967, and graduated from it in the academic season 1971 - 1972, Department of Theater, to join the National Acting Troupe in 1974. He presented many works in Iraqi theatre, cinema and television. Source: National Iraqi News Agency
