Doha: The first round of the Qatar Freestyle Drift Championship for the new season 2024-2025 has concluded. The two-day event was held at the Qatar Car and Motorcycle Racing Club, featuring a competitive atmosphere among freestyle drift champions and a record turnout from fans. According to Qatar News Agency, the final competitions, which ran for over four hours, saw Rashid Al Banna clinching first place, while Mohammed Al Muhandi secured second place. Abdullah Al Qahtani finished in third, ahead of competitors Saud Al Marri and Saud Al Kuwari, who came in fourth and fifth places, respectively. Director of organizers at the Qatar Club for Car and Motorcycle Racing, Khalifa Al Khaireen, crowned the winners of the first three places on stage. This marked the conclusion of the first round of the championship and began preparations for the second round, scheduled for December 12-13, 2024. In accordance with the competition rules, each competitor was given one chance to perform on the track and conduct five ass essments based on drift movements, reverse maneuvers, figure-eight movements, and reverse transitions. These tasks needed to be completed within a total of four minutes. The quicker a competitor executed these movements, the more points they earned. Additionally, there was a specific score allocated for the overall style of the competitor's performance, particularly for the specific movements.
