At least five people were killed after a helicopter carrying foreign tourists crashed near Mount Everest in Nepal.
In a statement, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal said that the helicopter crashed in the Lamajura, and rescuers recovered the bodies of five people and were searching for the sixth person The tourists were believed to be Mexican nationals while the pilot was Nepalese. Bad weather conditions are impeding the landing of search and rescue helicopters, it added.
Earlier, the Nepalese authorities announced the loss of contact with the Manang Air helicopter carrying six people on board near Mount Everest in Nepal. It had taken off from Solukhumbu province for Kathmandu.
