Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Mohamed Ali Nafti, discussed preparations for the meetings of the Iraqi-Tunisian Committee to be held in Tunisia. A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: "Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, met with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Mohamed Ali Nafti, in the Tunisian capital. Fuad Hussein congratulated his Tunisian counterpart on assuming the Foreign Ministry portfolio." During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them, in addition to coordination on current international issues and the challenges facing the current stage. The emphasis was placed on following up on the outcomes of the Iraqi-Tunisian Committee held in Baghdad last May, and following up on the implementation of the memoranda of understanding signed during the work of the joint committ ee between the two countries. The Foreign Minister thanked the Tunisian side for the facilities provided in the entry visa for Iraqis to Tunisia. The two sides discussed the possibility of increasing the number of flights between the two countries, and seeking to develop trade relations and cooperation in the cultural and educational fields, including providing scholarships. The two sides also discussed preparations for holding the upcoming joint committee meetings in Tunisia, stressing the importance of continuing cooperation and joint work to strengthen relations between the two countries in all fields.
