Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani today held a meeting with U.S. Representative Jim McGovern, representing the 2nd District of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and chair of the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed longstanding relations binding the two friendly countries. They also discussed ways of further bolstering joint ties, including protecting human rights, combating trafficking in persons and promoting the values of tolerance, coexistence and religious liberties.
They also focused on Bahrain’s efforts to foster the values of tolerance, coexistence, fraternity, and human rights within the reform project led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Present were Bahrain Ambassador to the USA Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Ombusdwoman Ghada Habib Hameed, Chief of Human Rights at the Foreign Ministry Dr. Arwa Hassan Al Sayyed and the accompanying delegation.
