Doha: GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi has criticized an Israeli occupation minister’s intrusion at Al Aqsa Mosque as a clear violation of Islamic sanctities. Al Budaiwi stated that Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s incursion into Islam’s third holiest site, accompanied by extremist colonists, represents the occupation forces’ plans to further destabilize security and stability in the Palestinian territories.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al Budaiwi labeled such actions as a serious breach of international law and the established historical and legal status of Jerusalem and its holy sites. He emphasized that these acts are a direct violation of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and serve as a provocation to Muslim sentiments, which could intensify tensions in the region and lead to a cycle of continuous violence.
