Hamas Hands Four Israeli Soldiers to ICRC Under Gaza Ceasefire Deal

Gaza City: In the second phase of the prisoner exchange agreement between Hamas and Israel, the Martyr Izz Al Din Al Qassam Brigades, the military arm of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), turned over four Israeli women soldiers to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Gaza Strip today. This came after the ceasefire agreement in Gaza was signed.

According to Qatar News Agency, Hamas movement announced yesterday that it would release four female prisoners, namely the female soldiers: Karina Arif, Danielle Gilboa, Naama Levy, and Liri Elbag, as part of the prisoner exchange deal.

Correspondent of Qatar news agency (QNA) spotted 4 vehicles belonging to Al Qassam Brigades, which arrived under heavy guard of resistance elements, to Palestine Square in the center of Gaza city, known as “Al Saha”, where they were carrying 4 female soldiers, and they were handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The QNA reporter reported that the ICRC received the four female soldiers and transported them with its vehicles from the southern Gaza Strip, in preparation for their handover to the Israeli side at the Kerem Shalom border crossing.

According to the terms of the ceasefire agreement between the Israeli entity and Hamas, the occupation will release 200 Palestinian prisoners after the receipt of the four recruits later, provided that the list includes 120 prisoners with life sentences and 80 prisoners with high sentences.

Official sources reported that ICRC vehicles were seen heading to the southern Gaza Strip this morning, where they entered the Kerem Shalom border crossing, in preparation for receiving the released Palestinian prisoners to the Gaza Strip, or deporting them outside Gaza and the West Bank.

After the release of the Israeli prisoners and the completion of the withdrawal of the occupying forces from the Gaza Valley, the return of the displaced persons will begin on foot only through the coastal Street Al Rashid, without inspection, while the displaced will be allowed to return by vehicles from Salah Al Din Street with inspection.

As part of the efforts to carry out the ceasefire deal mediated by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States, Al-Qassam Brigades turned over three Israeli women prisoners to the International Committee of the Red Cross in Gaza City last Sunday. Out of the 1,737 inmates that would be released as part of the agreement, 90 women and children were released by the Israeli occupation in exchange for the first phase of the ceasefire.
