Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, General Sports Authority (GSA) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has commended the prominent role played by sports leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in continental and international federations and organisations.

HH Shaikh Khalid was speaking as he received the President of the Asian Cycling Confederation, Osama Al-Shafar, at Al-Wadi Palace.

GSA Deputy Chairman, HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, GSA Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, and BOC Secretary-General, Faris Mustafa Al-Kooheji, were present.

HH Shaikh welcomed Osama Al-Shafar to his second country, Bahrain, commending his efforts to develop cycling in Asia and strengthening cooperation among national federations.

He stressed Bahrain's keenness to develop the cycling sport, in cooperation with the Asian Cycling Confederation.

HH Shaikh Khalid praised the major role played by Osama Al-Shafar at the level of the Olympic movement, wishing him continued success.
