HH the Amir and Colombian President Engage in Official Talks at Lusail Palace

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani engaged in a session of official talks at his office in the Lusail Palace with HE President of the Republic of Colombia Gustavo Petro.

According to Qatar News Agency, at the start of the session, HH the Amir welcomed HE the President and his delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay. HH the Amir emphasized the importance of the relationship between Qatar and Colombia, expressing hope that the visit would enhance bilateral cooperation to meet the aspirations and interests of both nations. He wished for further development and growth in Qatari-Colombian relations.

HE the President of Colombia expressed gratitude to HH the Amir for the warm reception and hospitality, highlighting his eagerness to promote cooperation and development between the two countries across various fields.

The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in economic, investment, and energy sectors. They also addressed several regional and international issues of mutual concern.

The session saw the attendance of several key Qatari officials including HE Chief of the Amiri Diwan, Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi; HE Minister of State for Energy Affairs, Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi; and other senior officials. The Colombian delegation included HE Minister of Foreign Affairs, Laura Sarabia; HE Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Luis Carlos Reyes Hernandez; among others.

Prior to the talks, HH the Amir and President Petro held a bilateral meeting to discuss further cooperation between their nations. The discussions were followed by a luncheon banquet hosted by HH the Amir in honor of the Colombian President and his delegation.
