Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani held a session of official talks with HE President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto at the Amiri Diwan office on Sunday.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting commenced with HH the Amir extending a warm welcome to HE Prabowo and his delegation, expressing hopes that the visit would enhance cooperation between the two nations. HH the Amir emphasized the significance of the relationship between the two friendly countries and expressed his desire for the visit to benefit both nations and their peoples.
HE President Prabowo conveyed his gratitude for the hospitality and expressed his eagerness to strengthen bilateral ties and elevate the relationship to new levels across various fields. Both leaders agreed to establish a joint USD 4 billion investment fund, indicating a significant step in economic collaboration.
The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in economic and investment spheres. The leaders also addressed regional and international issues of mutual interest. The session was attended by senior officials from both sides, including HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, and several other distinguished Qatari and Indonesian officials.
In addition to the group talks, HH the Amir and the Indonesian President engaged in a one-on-one discussion regarding regional and international developments and collaborative efforts to ensure peace and stability. They also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for strategic dialogue between the two governments.
Following the talks, HH the Amir hosted a luncheon banquet in honor of HE President Prabowo and his delegation. An official reception ceremony was conducted to welcome the Indonesian President upon his arrival at the Amiri Diwan.
