IOF Arrests 20 Palestinians in West Bank

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) arrested, in the past 24 hours, at least 20 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, including a child, two women and freed captives. In a joint statement, Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) said that most of arrests took place in Al-Khalil Governorate, while the rest occurred in the Governorates of Tubas, Bethlehem, Al-Quds (Occupied Jerusalem) and Qalqilya. The IOF also carried out widespread raids on money exchange shops in all governorates, and conducted a field investigation of a group of Palestinian employees, including a young woman, while others were arrested. The statement indicated that, since the beginning of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7, 2023, the number of arrests in the occupied West Bank has risen to 8,955, noting that these arrests included those who were arrested from homes or through military checkpoints, as well as those who were forced to surrender themselv es under pressure, and those who were held hostage. The IOF continues to implement systematic arrest campaigns, as one of the most prominent established policies, which escalated in an unprecedented manner after Oct. 7, 2023, not only in terms of the level of the number of detainees, but also in terms of the level of crimes committed.
