Iraq, Jordan Discuss Security Cooperation

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani met on Sunday with Jordanian Minister of Interior Mazin Al Faraya, who is visiting Iraq.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral cooperation relations and ways to enhance security cooperation between the two countries and cooperation regarding counterterrorism and combating drug trafficking.

Al Sudani stressed the need for coordination between the two countries to face security challenges in the region, in addition to developing economic cooperation in a way that contributes to enhancing development in the two countries.

In turn, the Jordanian Minister of Interior affirmed his country's desire to enhance cooperation with Iraq in various security files, foremost of which is the fight against drugs, and joint cooperation in confronting them.
