Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein discussed with NATO Assistant Secretary General for Operations Tom Kovos ways to enhance joint cooperation between Iraq and the alliance. A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Hussein met Kovos on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the International Coalition against ISIS, which was held in Washington, and discussed with him ways to enhance joint cooperation between Iraq and NATO, including providing rehabilitation, training and exchange of visits between the two parties. According to the statement, the two sides discussed developing new security plans in cooperation with Iraq's international partners to enhance military and security cooperation. They stressed the importance of continuing the work of the NATO mission in Iraq with full respect for the Iraq's sovereignty, and praised the ongoing cooperation, especially with the Iraqi National Security Chencellry.
