A security source announced the launch of a joint security operation in Qara Hanjir district, between the governorates of Kirkuk and Sulaymaniyah. The source said that "the federal military units and others affiliated units with the Peshmerga participated in the operation to comb the hills in the district." He pointed out that "the operation began in the early hours of this morning to search for terrorist cells sleeping in those hills." The source stated: "The operation was carried out in coordination between the Sulaymaniyah government and the federal government." Source: National Iraqi News Agency
