Kurdish farmers attack security forces north of Kirkuk

A number of farmers in the villages of Sarkaran district attacked the Iraqi army forces and prevented them from performing their duties.

A security source said that the Iraqi army forces within the Fifth Division, while carrying out their duties and preventing friction between Arab and Kurdish farmers, were attacked by Kurdish farmers gathered in five villages belonging to the Sarkaran district in Kirkuk Governorate, which led to the arrest of 12 farmers in the village of Shanaga, as a result of that.

It is noteworthy that the security forces called on the representatives of the villages of Balkana, Kabulka, Shinaga, Kharaba, and Sarbashakh, to prevent work on agricultural lands after the end of the harvest season of wheat and barley crops until their fate is judicially resolved.
