Doha: HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al-Thani along with HE Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov, co-chaired the inaugural session of the Qatari-Uzbek joint committee for economic, trade, and technical cooperation. This pivotal meeting was held in Doha and spanned two days, from November 10 to 11. The event saw participation from representatives of various ministries, government agencies, and several businessmen from both nations, eager to foster enhanced bilateral relations. According to Qatar News Agency, the proceedings were marked by an inaugural speech delivered by HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al-Thani, who highlighted the committee's role as a vital platform for strengthening Qatar-Uzbekistan cooperation in multiple sectors. These sectors include investment, industry, agriculture, information technology, and logistics services, among other areas of mutual interest. His Excellency lauded Uzbekistan a s a strategic partner for Qatar and emphasized the necessity for both the public and private sectors to drive forward trade and industrial collaboration. He also advocated for the expansion and diversification of investment partnerships through the signing and activation of new agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) that align with common interests. Furthermore, His Excellency stressed the importance of enhancing trade exchange, developing economic relations, and establishing robust partnerships between the private sectors of both countries. The aim is to increase the trade volume between Qatar and Uzbekistan significantly. By the conclusion of the committee's session, both parties expressed optimism about furthering their bilateral partnership, asserting that the outcomes of this meeting would serve as a catalyst for exploring new opportunities in various fields. On the sidelines of the committee's proceedings, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al-Thani engaged in discussions with HE Kudr atov on matters of mutual interest, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, and industry. The discussions also explored avenues for boosting these collaborations. During the meeting, HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry referenced Qatar's successful economic policies that support the private sector, highlighting the incentives, legislation, and promising opportunities designed to attract investors, businessmen, and company owners to invest in Qatar.
