Doha: The Crescent Sighting Committee at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has urged Muslims in the State of Qatar to observe the sighting of the crescent moon for the month of Ramadan on the evening of Friday, the 29th of Sha’ban, 1446 AH, corresponding to February 28, 2025.

According to Qatar News Agency, the committee issued a statement on Wednesday calling upon anyone who sights the crescent to immediately attend in person at the ministry’s premises in Dafna Tower to provide their testimony. The sighting is crucial for determining the start of the holy month of Ramadan.

The committee will convene immediately after Maghreb prayer to receive testimonies and confirm the sighting of the crescent moon, which marks the beginning of Ramadan in the Islamic lunar calendar.
