Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani met with HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov at the Amiri Diwan. The meeting took place on Wednesday during Lavrov’s official visit to the country.
According to Qatar News Agency, the discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between Qatar and Russia, with a particular emphasis on the field of technology. The leaders also addressed the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian crisis, deliberating on potential pathways to support and develop bilateral relations amidst these challenges.
In addition to bilateral relations, the talks extended to regional issues, including the situation in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories. The meeting highlighted Qatar’s diplomatic efforts in achieving a ceasefire agreement in Gaza. Updates on the developments in Syria and Lebanon were also part of the discussions.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to supporting international efforts aimed at resolving the Russian-Ukrainian crisis through dialogue and diplomatic means, underscoring Qatar’s stance on peaceful conflict resolution.
