Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Participates in Awareness Seminar on World Earth Day

Lusail: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change participated in an awareness seminar organized by the College of Law at Lusail University, under the title ‘Environmental Awareness and Social Responsibility’ on the occasion of World Earth Day. Several experts, specialists, and representatives of official and private entities participated in the seminar.

According to Qatar News Agency, the participants discussed the most prominent current environmental issues, stressing the importance of enhancing environmental awareness among members of society and the need to activate the role of social responsibility in protecting and sustaining the environment.

The seminar also addressed several topics, including environmental education, national legislation, international agreements, and anticipating the future of environmental legislation in the State of Qatar, emphasizing that celebrating World Earth Day is an opportunity to renew individual and institutional commitment to protecting the environment.

The seminar reviewed the ministry’s initiatives in the field of environmental conservation, in addition to awareness programs targeting young people in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, considering environmental protection a national and moral duty that requires concerted community efforts in support of Qatar National Vision 2030 and to consolidate the country’s pioneering position in the field of sustainability.
