Doha: The Ministry of Sports and Youth wrapped up Thursday the Qatar Youth Delegate to UN Program - an initiative recently launched by the Ministry of Sports and Youth to qualify 24 male and female young Qataris for various leadership roles, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. Held at the UN House in Lusail, the program offered the participants a set of workshops aimed at providing Qatari youths with the necessary skills and knowledge on active participation in UN meetings, and introducing them to its affiliated global organizations. Director of Youth Affairs Department at the Ministry of Sports and Youth, Fawaz Al Mesaifri, said that the program seeks to achieve Qatars vision, through the human development pillar, and also contributes to achieving the strategic goals of the Youth Affairs Department, which is to develop the skills of Qatari youth and enable them to participate distinctly in all international forums. Director of the program, Rashid Al Naimi, noted the important workshops introduced the participants to the principles and mechanisms of the UN work, and to the UN sustainable development goals, and the extent of progress made by the State of Qatar in achieving voluntary commitments in this field.
