Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) announced the opening of applications for the third edition of the Khibrat program for the academic year 2026-2027, starting Tuesday, May 5, until May 14.
According to Qatar News Agency, the ministry explained in a statement that the Khibrat program aims to develop national educational cadres by providing Qatari teachers in government schools with distinguished teaching experiences and practices. The program allows these educators to learn about diverse educational experiences and offers quality training programs, including a professional fellowship and fellowship experience in schools of countries advanced in the field of education.
The program includes two main phases. The first phase begins with six weeks in Saudi Arabian schools during the first semester of the 2026-2027 academic year. The second phase is completed in Qatar from the date of return until the end of May 2027.
The program targets male and female teachers and coordinators of Arabic language and Islamic education in government schools across various educational levels, including primary, preparatory, and secondary, for boys and girls.
The ministry stipulated specific requirements for applicants, who must be Qatari citizens with 3 to 5 years of experience. Applicants must also demonstrate a high level of commitment and professional competence, be medically fit to travel, pass the test and personal interview, and apply via the electronic link within the specified deadlines.
The ministry emphasized that passing the program requires full commitment to attending all in-person and remote training days, positive interaction during the various stages of the program, and submitting assignments and the final project with high quality and on time. Additionally, participants are expected to transfer the knowledge gained to the educational field.
The ministry noted that only one candidate from each school will be accepted. Registration does not guarantee final acceptance into the program, as all applicants must meet the approved evaluation and selection criteria.
