Moroccan “Transparency” Exhibition Opens at Al Markhiya Gallery, Showcasing Fusion of Authenticity, Modernity

Doha: The “Transparency” Exhibition was inaugurated at the Al Markhiya Gallery at the Fire Station, featuring masterpieces by contemporary Moroccan artists Hakim Ghazali and Khalid Elbekay. The exhibition will be open to the public until April 4.

According to Qatar News Agency, the inauguration ceremony was attended by HE Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Qatar, Mohamed Setri, along with several diplomats, intellectuals, and artists. The exhibition offers a unique art experience by blending visual arts with art books, presenting a masterpiece that unites modernity with authenticity.

Khalid Elbekay draws inspiration from Moroccan heritage, integrating geometric patterns, arabesque designs, and calligraphy. His art reflects a connection with Moroccan traditions while transcending cultural borders to illustrate the interconnection between Eastern and Western influences.

In remarks to Qatar News Agency, Elbekay noted that Qatar’s advanced art scene inspired him to showcase his work at Al Markhiya Gallery, a prestigious venue in the country. He emphasized Doha’s openness to Eastern influences and highlighted previous exhibitions in 2015 and 2022 that focused on Arab and Western cultural dialogues.

Hakim Ghazali, recognized regionally, merges Moroccan traditional arts with contemporary global visions in his work, exploring cultural identity, spirituality, and the interaction between tradition and modernity. With a career spanning nearly four decades, Ghazali expressed appreciation to Qatar News Agency for debuting his artworks at Al Markhiya Gallery, praising its organization and efforts to promote cultural and art affairs in Qatar.
