The media of the Najaf health Department announced that a stampede had occurred, leading to cases of suffocation among the ranks of those present in the vicinity of the sermon area of Sayyed Muqtada al-Sadr in Al-Hanana. Maher Al-Aboudi, the department's media officer, said, 'Within one hour after Sayyid Muqtada Al-Sadr's speech, 55 cases of suffocation were transferred to the hospital, and seventy-nine cases were treated on the spot and given oxygen.' He added, "These cases occurred at eight in the evening until nine o'clock, and most of the cases were due to crowding, especially in the narrow corridor at the entrance to Al-Hanana neighborhood."
