The independent Kurdish politician, Mahmoud Othman, confirmed the existence of great understandings between the federal government and the regional government on various outstanding issues between them.
Othman said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: "The delegation of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, which visited Baghdad recently, obtained great understandings with the federal government and the coordination framework that forms the current government, including sending a delegation from the federal financial control to the regional government and working with the financial control of the region to audit its accounts, and then release financial dues from the federal government to the region, and there are also understandings regarding the legislation of the oil and gas law during the coming period.
Othman explained: "The problem of exporting the region's oil to Turkey is still the same, and the oil export is still stopped, because Iraq is asking Turkey to pay one and a half billion dollars in export dues, while Turkey is also demanding some dues, in addition to the presence of a political aspect in this regard, including water and the Turkish war against the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in northern Iraq.
