Pakistani Premier Affirms Islamabad’s Continued Efforts for Peace in Region

Islamabad: Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif affirmed on Wednesday that his country is continuing its efforts for peace in the region. The Premier highlighted the importance of proactive diplomacy in easing tensions and promoting regional stability and peace.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized the significance of the direct talks between the United States and Iran, which took place in Islamabad on April 11. These discussions were seen as a major diplomatic breakthrough, and Sharif noted that Pakistan played a crucial role in coordinating efforts to ensure the success of the negotiations. As a result of these efforts, the ceasefire between the US and Iran has remained in place and has been extended.

The Prime Minister also mentioned that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi recently visited Pakistan to hold discussions with senior Pakistani officials. The talks aimed to further efforts to end the ongoing conflict and reinforce the commitment to peace in the region.
