The men's triathlon competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games was postponed today due to concerns about the water quality of the Seine River, where the competition will be held, after Olympic swimmers' training sessions were canceled on Sunday and Monday. The men's race, (which was scheduled to start at 8:00 local time today), has been postponed until tomorrow, Wednesday. The race has also been rescheduled to start at 10:45 local time tomorrow, Wednesday, after the women's race, which was scheduled to start at 8:00. The International Triathlon Union said in a statement that the events could be held next Friday, if one or both races cannot be held for any emergency reason, explaining that tests conducted on the Seine River water showed that the water quality did not provide sufficient guarantees to allow the race to be held.
