As the curtain of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 is falling, the United States emerges atop the final medal standings, despite tying with China with forty gold medals each. The United States finished 1st in the Olympics, having won a total of 126 medals: 40 gold, 44 silver, and 42 bronze. China came in 2nd with a total of 91 medals: 40 gold, 27 silver, and 24 bronze. The 3rd place was secured by Japan with 45 medals: 20 gold, 12 silver, and 13 bronze. Moreover, Australia finished in 4th place, earning 53 medals:18 gold, 19 silver, and 16 bronze, while the host country, France, came in 5th place with 64 medals: 16 gold, 26 silver, and 22 bronze, as for the Netherlands, it managed to capture the 6th place with 34 medals: 15 gold, 7 silver, and 12 bronze.
