Doha: The General Assembly of the Qatar Athletics Federation has elected Mohammed Issa Al-Fadala as President for a new term extending until 2028. The election took place during a meeting held on Monday at the headquarters of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), where all members were in attendance, ensuring a full quorum. According to Qatar News Agency, the Assembly not only elected Mohammed Issa Al-Fadala but also selected Issa Abdullah Al Harmi, Talal Mansour Al Abdullah, Thabet Sorour, Mohammed Ahmed Taher, and Moza Khaled Al-Mohannadi as members of the Board of Directors. The General Assembly further approved the minutes of the previous meeting and adopted the schedule for upcoming championships. In his address, Mohammed Issa Al Fadala emphasized the Federation's commitment to achieving success in future athletic participations. He highlighted the unwavering support from the Qatar Olympic Committee, led by HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, as a significant factor in their efforts. Al Fadala expressed g ratitude to the General Assembly members, acknowledging their role as partners in the Federation's achievements. He also commended Qatari clubs for their dedication to developing the sport and achieving success.
