Qatar Charity (QC) has signed several agreements with Turkiye's various government ministries to implement many educational, healthcare, and industrial projects in numerous cities of the country.
The CEO of Qatar Charity, Yousuf bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, has signed an agreement with the Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology in Turkiye, Ahmet Yozgatl?gil, to establish two markets in Ad?yaman and Kahramanmaras, both cities in Turkiye. Additionally, the two parties have also signed an agreement to establish a textile factory in Akcakale, a town and district of Sanl?urfa Province.
In a related context, the CEO of Qatar Charity also signed an agreement with the Deputy Minister of Education in Turkiye, Omer Faruk Yelkenci, to establish and equip two schools in the Gaziantep and Hatay provinces.
Furthermore, the CEO of Qatar Charity also signed a third agreement with the Deputy Minister of Health in Turkiye Tolga Tolunay, to establish and fully equip three healthcare clinics in Hatay, Kahramanmaras, and Malatya.
On this occasion, the CEO of Qatar Charity, Yousuf bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, said, "We are delighted to sign these various and diverse agreements to contribute to the reconstruction of several Turkish provinces to help our Turkish brothers and sisters overcome the earthquake crisis by implementing several high-quality educational, industrial, and healthcare projects. We also appreciate the welcome from the Turkish side for this initiative and their efforts to facilitate the procedures allowing us to begin implementing these projects on the ground as soon as possible." Al Kuwari expressed his hope that these projects would make a difference in the lives of those affected by the earthquake that struck Turkiye in February, considering them as a gift from the people of Qatar to the people of Turkiye.
The CEO of Qatar Charity also extended his gratitude to the generous donors of Qatar for supporting their brothers and sisters affected by the earthquake in Turkiye through these projects. He noted that these projects would contribute to the restoration of the infrastructure and the related services to their normal state in the affected areas.
Due to the damage to the popular markets caused by the earthquake in both Kahramanmaras and Ad?yaman provinces, Qatar Charity will work on establishing a popular market in each of these provinces, with a total cost exceeding QR 5 million, This initiative aims to support craftsmen who have lost their shops by providing them with equipped shops within the two popular markets, each of which will contain around 50 shops.
A textile factory is also expected to be established in the Akcakale municipality in the Sanliurfa province at a cost of more than QR 3 million.
On signing the agreement, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology in Turkiye Ahmet Yozgatl?gil, expressed his gratitude to the State of Qatar, both its government and its people, as well as Qatar Charity, for their support to the Turkish people and for helping the earthquake-affected people in southern Turkiye.
He also expressed his happiness at signing the memorandum of understanding with Qatar Charity, which aims to rebuild the affected areas by supporting the industrial sector, thereby contributing to boosting the economy in southern Turkiye.
Due to the extensive damage suffered by schools in Gaziantep, Hatay, and Malatya, schools will be established in these areas with a total cost exceeding QR 9 million according to the signed agreements. This initiative aims to enhance access to education services for children in these regions.
In this context, the Deputy Minister of Education in Turkiye Omer Faruk Yelkenci, said, "Turkish-Qatari relations are strong and historical. Our Qatari brothers have provided aid and assistance swiftly and immediately, and today they are contributing to the reconstruction. We thank them for that. We have signed an agreement to establish two schools, and on behalf of myself and the Ministry of Education, I thank Qatar Charity and the people of Qatar for this kind initiative." In a related effort, Qatar Charity is working to support healthcare services that were affected by the recent earthquake in various regions of Turkiye. It will construct three fully equipped healthcare clinics in Hatay, Kahramanmara?, and Malatya, with a total cost exceeding QR 9 million. This initiative aims to strengthen the infrastructure of the healthcare sector in these areas.
On this occasion, the Deputy Minister of Health in Turkiye Tolga Tolunay, expressed his gratitude to the State of Qatar and Qatar Charity for their efforts and response to those affected by the earthquake in southern Turkiye. He also thanked them for the projects that Qatar Charity will provide to support the healthcare sector in these cities. He extended a special thanks to the Qatari people for their humanitarian stand by the Turkish people.
The Director-General of Turkish Health Dr. Salami Kilic, expressed his gratitude to Qatar Charity and highlighted its efforts in the countries it operates in around the world. He expressed hope that cooperation with Qatar Charity could be further enhanced to work both within Turkiye and beyond its borders, especially considering that the Turkish Ministry of Health is involved in various activities in several locations around the world.
