Qatar: Qatar's Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has announced the opening of registration for the third edition of its Summer Environmental Club, a youth initiative aimed at fostering environmental awareness and sustainability among students in the nation. The program is scheduled to run from June 21 to July 2, 2026, and will accommodate 20 Qatari students aged between 11 and 17.

According to Qatar News Agency, the ministry emphasized that this initiative is part of its broader educational and awareness programs designed to instill environmental values in young people and familiarize them with the country's environmental sector. The program also aims to encourage behaviors that promote environmental protection and the conservation of natural resources.

Parents have been urged by the ministry to register interested students promptly, as the spots are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The inaugural edition of the Summer Environmental Club was launched in 2024, lasting three weeks and including lectures, workshops, and field visits to introduce participants to concepts like sustainability, wildlife and marine conservation, and the importance of safeguarding natural resources.

The second edition, themed "Sustainability Generation," took place from July 1 to 14 last year, bringing together 20 students. It covered topics such as smart cities, the circular economy, and digital technologies that support sustainability efforts. The program also included visits to various environmental sites across Qatar and featured a partnership with UNESCO, which provided specialized workshops. Participants received internationally accredited certificates upon completion.

The ministry highlighted that the annual program underscores Qatar's ongoing commitment to investing in environmental education and engaging younger generations in sustainability and climate-related issues.
