Qatar Minister Engages in High-Level Meetings at Davos

Doha: HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al-Thani has held a series of bilateral meetings with ministers and executives of major international companies, on the sidelines of his participation in the World Economic Forum held in the Swiss city of Davos. These meetings are part of Qatar’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international economic ties and explore new avenues for collaboration in various sectors.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad held a video meeting with HE Director of Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) of the Republic of Turkiye, Okay Mamis. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in disaster management and emergency response between the two nations.

In Gaza, the Director of the Qatar Red Crescent Representative Office, Dr. Akram Nassar, confirmed that the Qatar Red Crescent has intensified its efforts to address the effects and repercussions of the Israeli aggression on the Strip. Following the ceasefire agreement, relief operations have commenced to provide shelter and assistance to Palestinian citizens.

The Hamas movement announced its plan to release four female Israeli soldiers as part of a prisoner exchange deal with Israel. This exchange is scheduled for Saturday and is part of a broader agreement signed last week.

In Damascus, the leader of the new Syrian administration, Ahmed Al Sharaa, met with Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah. This meeting signifies ongoing diplomatic engagements in the region aimed at fostering stability and cooperation.
