Doha: Qatar National Bank (QNB) has announced the latest deposit rates for several currencies effective Monday. The new rates cover a range of currencies including the US Dollar (USD), Japanese Yen (JPY), Swiss Franc (CHF), British Pound (GBP), Qatari Riyal (QAR), Saudi Riyal (SAR), UAE Dirham (AED), and Bahraini Dinar (BHD).
According to Qatar News Agency, the rates for USD deposits start at 3.64863% for a one-month term, increasing incrementally with longer terms, reaching 3.69353% for a 12-month deposit. For the JPY, the one-month and two-month rates are consistent at 0.70000%, with the 12-month rate rising to 1.16000%. CHF deposit rates are negative at shorter terms but turn positive at 6 months and beyond, peaking at 0.12000% for one year. The GBP rates start from 3.68000% for one month, going up to 4.48000% for a 12-month deposit.
In local currencies, the QAR deposit rates begin at 4.04620% for a one-month term and decrease to 3.86117% for a 12-month term. The SAR rates are highest at one month with 4.50000%, stabilizing at 4.30000% for longer terms. For the AED, the one-month rate is 2.05000%, while the 12-month rate climbs to 3.15000%. BHD deposit rates start at 4.56000% for one month, slightly decreasing to 4.62000% for a 12-month term.
