Qatar Reaffirms Commitment to Energy Supply Amid Ongoing Iranian Attacks

Doha: Qatari newspaper editorials highlighted various topics, emphasizing the State of Qatar's continued commitment to remaining a reliable energy supplier despite ongoing Iranian attacks on the country, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and Arab nations. The newspapers noted that Gulf wisdom has reappeared in addressing the Iranian attacks and the war that the GCC countries are being dragged into, making them parties to a conflict in which they have no stake.

According to Qatar News Agency, Qatari newspapers emphasized that state institutions have extensive experience in managing exceptional circumstances. They have succeeded, through cooperation among all concerned parties, in ensuring the provision of food supplies in the local market and confronting any practices of exploitation or price manipulation. This reflects the capability of state institutions and national agencies to handle this crisis while maintaining market stability and ensuring the availability of basic goods to meet consumer needs.

Al-Raya newspaper reported that amid escalating regional tensions and unprecedented challenges to global energy security, Qatar continues to emphasize its role as a reliable energy supplier, maintaining a solid record of full commitment to its pledges towards international partners. Qatar has established its reputation as a reliable source of LNG, consistently meeting its contractual obligations even in the most challenging circumstances, the newspaper highlighted. These Qatari messages come at a sensitive time for global energy markets, where geopolitical conditions are intertwined with the need for stable supplies.

Al-Raya also referred to the confirmation by HE Minister of State for Energy Affairs Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi during his meeting with HE Director-General for Energy at the European Commission Ditte Juul-Jorgensen. HE Minister Al Kaabi reiterated Qatar's commitment to remaining a reliable energy supplier and expressed a desire to continue and strengthen energy cooperation with the European Union. HE Juul-Jorgensen, in turn, expressed the European Union's solidarity with Qatar amid current regional tensions and reaffirmed the importance of stability and security in the global energy supply.

Al-Sharq newspaper commented on the GCC's success in confronting chaos and crises for over four decades, remaining steadfast through regional storms. The newspaper's editor-in-chief noted that the GCC has managed to distance itself from regional conflicts and protect its interior from the effects of these wars, thanks to the wisdom of its leaders. The GCC has exercised restraint in the face of serious Iranian attacks, which have violated national sovereignty and international laws by targeting vital civilian facilities and infrastructure.

Al-Sharq concluded by emphasizing that Gulf wisdom has once again emerged in handling this serious crisis, demonstrating the strength and resilience of the GCC nations in the face of adversity.
