Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index opened Monday's trading session with a 0.66 percent decline, shedding 68.71 points to settle at the 10,392 level compared to the previous closing session. This decline was influenced by performance in five sectors.
According to Qatar News Agency, QSE figures indicated that while the real estate sector saw a growth of 0.53 percent and the insurance sector increased by 0.15 percent, other sectors experienced declines. The telecommunications sector fell by 0.25 percent, the transport sector by 0.31 percent, the consumer goods and services sector by 0.36 percent, the industrial sector by 0.40 percent, and the banks and financial services sector by 0.63 percent.
By 10:00 AM, trading on the Qatar Stock Exchange amounted to QR 1.199 billion, with 32.883 million shares exchanged through 4,670 transactions. The rise in trading value was primarily driven by transactions in the debt instruments market, which totaled QR 1.125 billion.
