Doha: Qatari newspapers on Tuesday focused on the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza and Qatar’s ongoing assistance to low-income nations. The editorials expressed concern over the Israeli occupation’s purported objective to displace Palestinians by making the Gaza Strip uninhabitable through acts of violence, destruction, and the targeting of displacement camps, hospitals, schools, and government facilities. They also addressed issues of starvation, thirst, and the obstruction of humanitarian aid.
According to Qatar News Agency, the editorials drew attention to specific incidents, such as the killing of 15 humanitarian workers by Israeli army fire in Rafah, located in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. This incident, the newspapers argued, necessitates a transparent international investigation that should lead to decisions appropriate to the severity of the crime.
On another note, the editorials praised Qatar’s involvement in the 65th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank and the 39th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of IDB Invest in Santiago, Chile. This participation was highlighted as evidence of Qatar’s ongoing commitment to playing a pioneering role in supporting strategic initiatives for economic development.
Al-Raya newspaper, under the headline “A Blatant Plan to Displace Palestinians,” criticized Israeli claims of pressuring resistance groups to accept political solutions, labeling them as deceptive due to the occupation’s history of violating agreements and humanitarian protocols. The editorial stated that the displacement of Rafah residents is a strategic move to encircle the Palestinian population in Gaza, aiming to either eliminate or expel them.
The newspaper elaborated that the Israeli occupation seeks to enforce forced displacement in Gaza under the pretense of evacuation orders and relentless aerial bombardments, leading to mass migrations of people without shelter after the destruction of homes and infrastructure. It condemned the displacement from Rafah as part of a broader plan to weaken the Palestinian spirit, pushing them to relinquish their land for settlement construction, despite international disapproval.
The editorial concluded by asserting that attempts to alter the status quo in Gaza are unacceptable and should be met with international determination to end the aggression, ensure the flow of aid, and implement the Arab reconstruction plan.
