Istanbul: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed a ceasefire in the region today with his French counterpart Jean-Noel Barrot. Sources in the Turkish Foreign Ministry reported that Fidan and Barrot held a telephone conversation during which they discussed issues related to the ceasefire.

According to Qatar News Agency, US President Donald Trump had announced a 10-day ceasefire in Lebanon starting at midnight. The discussion between the Turkish and French foreign ministers is seen as a diplomatic effort to support and ensure the effectiveness of the ceasefire initiative in the region.
