Qatari Editorials Highlight Nation’s Achievements and Future Prospects

Doha: Qatari newspapers, in their Wednesday editorials, celebrated the nation’s impressive achievements in 2024, which have solidified its status as one of the most advanced countries globally. The editorials projected that 2025 will see further successes due to strategic leadership and a clear vision for the future.

According to Qatar News Agency, the newspapers emphasized Qatar’s diplomatic and political achievements, which have bolstered its standing on the international stage. They underscored the country’s commitment to continuing along the path set by its wise leadership, which has outlined a roadmap for sustainable development and growth.

Al Raya newspaper highlighted Qatar’s numerous accomplishments in 2024, noting that a significant portion of strategic development projects aimed at realizing Qatar National Vision 2030 have been completed. The newspaper emphasized that this vision prioritizes the development of Qatari citizens, equipping them to be effective contributors to national progress.

Qatar leads global indicators in quality of life, security, peace, development, education, health, and economic well-being, Al Raya pointed out. This success is attributed to a strategic approach focused on achieving the nation’s goals, supported by its loyal youth and skilled workforce. The newspaper projected that 2025 will see the launch of major strategic projects, particularly in health, education, and self-sufficiency. Economic diversification will also be a priority, with increased focus on non-oil sectors while continuing to develop the oil and gas industry.

Al Raya stressed the responsibility of Qataris to build on past successes, describing the coming phase as one of self-surpassing and excellence through pioneering projects that will advance Qatar’s development. It concluded that 2025 promises significant strides in infrastructure and major projects.

In parallel, Al Watan newspaper lauded Qatar’s elevated regional and international status at the start of 2025, expressing optimism for continued success under the nation’s insightful leadership. It highlighted Qatar’s transformation into a role model through achievements across various fields, particularly in human development.

The newspaper noted Qatar’s top regional ranking in global governance indicators for 2024 and its rise to 11th place globally in the World Competitiveness Book. Qatar also ranked 40th globally in the latest UNDP human development reports and made progress in the UN E-Government Development Index. The health and education systems in Qatar were praised, with Qatar leading the Arab world in the basic education quality index.

Al Watan concluded that these achievements are a testament to the belief in the human as the ultimate goal, recognizing people as central to the state’s economic, social, cultural, and environmental transformation.
