The Qatari table tennis delegation won six medals at the conclusion of the team competitions in the West Asian Table Tennis Championship, which is currently being held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, and will conclude on Aug. 31. The Qatari delegation members succeeded in winning two gold medals, three silver medals, and a bronze medal. The under-17 team, which includes Sultan Khalid Al Kuwari, Abbad Al Abdullah, Ahmed Eid Qarni, and Rawad Al Nasser, won the gold medal after winning the final match against the Bahraini team (3-0), while the under-15 youth team, which includes Mohammed Al Sulaiti, Abdulaziz Al Abdullah, and Youssef Abdul-Dhaher, won the gold medal after defeating the Saudi team (3-1) in the final match. The under-13 team, which includes Issa Al Haddad, Abdulaziz Al Abdullah, and Rabia Al Kuwari, won the silver medal after losing in the final against the Syrian team (2-3). The junior team (under 11 years old), consisting of Rabia Al Kuwari and Mubarak Marzouq Al Mansouri, won the silver me dal after losing the final to the Syrian team (2-3), while the junior team (under 11 years old), consisting of Dana Al Kaabi and Serene Sheikh, won the silver medal after losing the final to Syria (2-3). In the senior category, the women's team came in third place and won the bronze medal, bringing the total to 6 medals, reflecting the distinguished levels presented by the Qatari delegation during the tournament at the team competition level. Regarding these results, President of the Qatar Federation Khalil Al Mohannadi, praised the levels presented by the Qatari teams during the tournament, and the various medals won, considering the results achieved not to be a surprise, as a result of the good preparation that took place in preparation for the tournament, and the successful external and internal camps that included it, without reducing his expectations for more medals in light of the continuation of the tournament competitions. For his part, Abbad Nasser Al Abdullah, a player in the U-17 national team, stressed that winning the gold medal in the team competition is a great honor, considering winning the medal a great motivation to strive to achieve more medals in the team and doubles competitions.
