Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet’s regular meeting held Wednesday.
According to Qatar News Agency, Sheikh Mohammed also met with HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Sugiono, who is visiting Qatar. In another diplomatic engagement, HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi held a bilateral meeting with the Indonesian Foreign Minister.
The State of Qatar demonstrated its commitment to international cooperation by participating in the 108th session of the Executive Council of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in The Hague. Meanwhile, HE Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai underscored the importance of the Mobile World Congress (MWC Doha), emphasizing its role in advancing Qatar’s digital and economic goals.
On a humanitarian front, Qatar Charity has been actively involved in providing food assistance to displaced families in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu. Additionally, a Qatari investment delegation visited Oklahoma City, engaging in discussions with officials and businessmen to enhance economic and cultural ties.
The 11th edition of Qumra, organized by the Doha Film Institute, will offer support to 49 projects from emerging filmmakers worldwide. Further educational initiatives include Qatar Foundation’s launch of the “Reyada” program in partnership with HEC Paris and Duke Corporate Education.
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has collaborated with Qatar University to initiate a student competition focused on environmental awareness and climate change, set for spring 2025. Ooredoo Group has partnered with Kloudville to create a digital marketplace tailored for businesses.
In sports, the Qatar Football Association (QFA) detailed the participation mechanism for Qatari clubs in the Asian Football Confederation tournaments for the 2025-2026 season. The QFA also concluded a Performance Analysis Course at Qatar University, and announced the referees for the upcoming Ooredoo Stars League matches.
Cultural and sports events are also on the horizon, with the Katara International Ramadan Open Chess Championship starting and the Captain Saeed Al Misnad Ramadan Tournament resuming. Doha Marine Sports Club is set to host the final round of the UIM-ABP Aquabike Circuit Pro World Championship after a decade. Additionally, the Nishan Ramadan Shooting Championship will take place at the Lusail Shooting Complex.
