Doha: Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has announced that 29 of its health centers have renewed their GSAS Operations certification for sustainable operations under the Global Sustainability Assessment System developed by the Gulf Organization for Research and Development, also known as GORD. The corporation highlighted that several facilities achieved high performance ratings, including platinum and gold classifications, reflecting standards in operational sustainability, resource efficiency, and indoor environmental quality.
According to Qatar News Agency, this achievement marks a significant milestone for the organization, as it has become the first government entity in Qatar to renew GSAS Operations certifications for a second cycle. The certification renewal process is required every four years to maintain compliance with approved sustainability standards. Dr Yousef Alhorr, Chairman of GORD, described the renewed certification as an important environmental and institutional accomplishment. He stated that the recognition reflects a commitment to making sustainability an integral part of the healthcare system in Qatar.
Meanwhile, Musallam Mubarak Al Nabet, PHCC's Assistant Managing Director for Administrative Affairs and Shared Services, emphasized that the recertification demonstrated the organization's commitment to delivering sustainable healthcare services. He noted that the recognition reflected the dedication of staff teams and aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030 through efforts to promote sustainability and create high-performance healthcare environments.
GSAS Operations certification provides a data-driven framework aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of existing buildings while enhancing indoor environmental quality for occupants.
