QF Pre-University Education Leader Highlights Priority on Student Mental Health and Well-Being

Doha: President of Pre-University Education at Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development (QF), Abeer Al Khalifa, has affirmed that students' health and well-being are of utmost priority, particularly under circumstances that may cause anxiety and stress.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al Khalifa explained that QF schools provide clear channels for psychological support, counseling services, and professional protection programs, whether in terms of in-person or remote learning. She stressed that students with disabilities receive special attention to ensure overall care and education.

QF schools have maintained remote learning in a stable and organized manner despite the current regional situation, focusing sharply on reading, writing, arithmetic skills, and core learning outcomes, particularly for students in early stages and those preparing for examinations. Al Khalifa emphasized that these measures have helped protect essential educational fields and overcome prolonged disruption.

She highlighted that the accumulated experience from recent years, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, has bolstered the ability for a rapid and seamless transition to remote learning. The Foundation's schools have demonstrated high readiness and effective coordination among leadership teams to ensure the availability of digital platforms and necessary support systems.

The QF educational approach is centered on the individuality of each student, with remote learning providing content tailored to various age groups. This includes regular study schedules and activities that ensure constant interaction between teachers and students, along with ongoing psychological guidance and behavioral support.

Al Khalifa noted that student engagement is monitored daily through limited attendance requirements and study tasks designed to ensure effective participation. Immediate intervention mechanisms are in place should any decrease in student interaction be observed.

She elaborated on the substantial role of parents as a core pillar in the school community, contributing to the education of students and supporting daily activities. Parents play a key role in mitigating anxiety and transforming the home atmosphere into a supportive environment for remote learning success.

Al Khalifa concluded by underscoring the efficiency of the ongoing educational process in QF schools since the implementation of the remote learning system. She emphasized that this system offers an opportunity to develop innovative solutions that ensure smoother education sustainability in contingency situations.
