QSE Index Opens Lower Following Decline in Five Sectors

Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index experienced a drop of 26.42 points, or 0.25%, at the start of trading on Sunday. This decline brought the index down to 10,687 points compared to the previous session's closing, largely due to pressure from five key sectors.

According to Qatar News Agency, the sectors contributing to the decrease included Banks and Financial Services, which fell by 0.43%, Insurance by 0.39%, Industrials by 0.12%, Telecoms by 0.12%, and Consumer Goods and Services by 0.10%. Despite these declines, the Real Estate and Transportation sectors showed positive performance, rising by 0.26% and 0.21% respectively.

By 10:00 am, the Qatar Stock Exchange had reported a turnover of QR 58.609 million. The market saw 36.789 million shares traded across 3,138 transactions, reflecting the active engagement of investors in the market amidst the sectoral pressures.
