Spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Defense Igor Konashenkov, announced that it foiled a large-scale attack by Ukrainian forces on five sectors of the front in the direction of Yuzhno-Donetsk.

Ukraine launched a large-scale attack on five sectors of the front, in the direction of Yuzhno-Donetsk, Konashenkov said, adding that the attack was foiled.

He noted that the losses of Ukrainian troops amounted to more than 250 personnel, 16 tanks, 3 infantry combat vehicles and 21 armored combat vehicles.

On the other hand, Governor of Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov, said that one of the power facility is burning in the Belgorod, pointing out that there are no injuries and no power outages for consumers and that emergency services are operating on site.

Gladkov indicated that - according to preliminary information, the fire was caused by an explosive device thrown from a drone.

Border areas in Belgorod have been recently subjected to intense incursions, resulting in material damage and civilian casualties. Authorities have begun evacuating residents of some villages and border towns.
