Cairo: The Shura Council participated on Sunday in the 37th meeting of the Executive Committee of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU), held at the Arab League’s headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE Member of the Shura Council and Member of the Executive Committee of the AIPU, Dr. Sultan bin Hassan Al Dhabet Al Dosari, represented the Shura Council at this significant meeting. The agenda included discussions on the report of the AIPU Secretary-General and the findings of the special committee assigned to study the AIPU’s charter and determine its permanent headquarters. Additionally, the committee addressed the urgent item to be submitted by the Arab Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union during the 150th session of its General Assembly, scheduled to take place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in April.

HE Dr. Sultan Al Dosari had previously participated in the Gulf Coordination Meeting held in Cairo, aimed at coordinating the positions of GCC countries involved in the Executive Committee meeting. This participation underscores the active role that Qatar is playing within the regional parliamentary landscape, fostering collaboration and dialogue among Arab nations through the AIPU platform.
