Doha: Atletico Madrid drew 1-1 with their guests Arsenal FC today in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final.

According to Qatar News Agency, Arsenal took the lead through Viktor Gyokeres from the spot in the 44th minute, before Julian Alvarez equalized, also from the penalty spot, in the 56th minute.

Both teams delivered a defensively-minded match, with the only goals coming from penalties, as the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

The two sides will meet again next week in London. The winner will face either Bayern Munich or Paris Saint-Germain (the defending champions) in the final.
